CN Scholarship Programs

Each year CN offers twenty undergraduate scholarships, valued at $2,000 each, and two graduate scholarships valued at $3,000 each, for children of CN employees and pensioners. Eligible dependents must be natural children, legally adopted children, stepchildren, or wards in legal guardianship.

The Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada (AUCC) administer these programs on behalf of CN. Applicants deal directly with the AUCC when applying for a scholarship or dealing with other documentation needs.

In addition to the undergraduate and graduate scholarships, thanks to a monetary award from DOW Chemicals recognizing the railway’s safe handling of its goods, CN is able to offer eight undergraduate scholarships in Canada, values at $2,000 each. These scholarships are for children and grandchildren of living CN employees and pensioners, with a preference for applicants in a field related to health, safety or environment.

For the 2010 academic year, applications must be postmarked no later than May 1, 2010. Applications can be obtained by contacting AUCC as noted below. The applicant is responsible for ensuring that the post office postmarks the envelope by the due date. Deadline for receipt of supporting documents by the AUCC is May 25, 2010.
