Health Care Plan for Defined Contribution Retirees

The CN Pensioners Association (CNPA) manages a post retirement Health Care Plan for CN Defined Contribution Retirees (CNDC) for a limited number of former CN retirees without a CN Defined Benefit Pension. For these CNDC Plan members already enrolled in Plan # 91526, please see the links below for:

• Claim Forms (and alternative more efficient claim submission processes) for submitting your receipts

• Additional Blue Cross discounts available in your area through Blue Advantage.

 

For those already enrolled in this CN Pensioners Health Care Plan administered by Medavie Blue Cross
(91526), if you have questions on coverage, administration of the plan, etc., here are the numbers to
call:

• For questions about enrolling, changing options, cancellation of coverage or premium rates, please call 1-866-660-7670.

• For questions about payment of claims, definition of benefits, coverage details, obtaining prior approval for certain expenses or to obtain claim forms, please call 1-888-873-9200.

• Please also refer to your Medavie Blue Cross membership card for your plan number and ID.

 

 

NEW CNDC RETIREES - COMING SOON (2026)

NEW eligible CN Defined Contribution retirees (and eligible dependents) may
be entitled to receive coverage under this Health Care Plan for CNDC Retirees upon termination from
CN.

To be eligible for coverage under this plan, post January 1, 2026 (final date to be determined with CN)  CNDC retirees must:

1. Be at least 55 years of age on their termination date from CN (must be age 65 or over in Quebec **).

2. Have a minimum of 10 years of CN service.

3. Apply on the designated CNDC application form within 60 days of their termination date from CN.

4. Provide the required CN confirmation document which must include – CNDC Retiree Name, PIN, date of birth, date of CN termination, years of CN service at CN termination date.

5. Not be receiving a CN Defined Benefit monthly pension from CN – or an insufficient CN monthly pension to cover their premiums under the CNPA Health Care Plan for CN Pensioners.

** CNDC Quebec retirees between age 55 and 64, who are ineligible to apply when terminated from
CN, may choose to apply for this plan at age 65. They must:

1. Complete and submit the CNDC application form within 60 days of reaching age 65.

2. Provide the required confirmation document from CN as outlined in item 4 above.

3. Be enrolled in the Quebec provincial drug program managed by RAMQ.
