Here's what CNPA membership does for you. Still not a member? Then you can join here Why Membership Matters Membership consists of retired CN employees, surviving spouses and honorary members as well as retirees and their spouses from groups formerly connected with CN (i.e. VIA Rail and Marine Atlantic). Active employees can be admitted as social members without voice or vote. "Bridged" employees are also eligible for membership to the CN Pensioners' Association. Although we advocate on behalf of all CN Pensioners and surviving spouses as volunteers, operating expenses are a reality. If you are not already a contributing member, by becoming one for only $1.00 a month, you can help defray such expenses. Your $1 per month will entitle you to several membership benefits and as information, approximately $0.83 of your $1 per month is returned to your local council of choice for their use. It is easy to become a member – just go to our sign up form below or email us at membership@cnpensioners.org . CN Railroaders in the Community Thanks for 2025 Efforts & Changes for 2026 Hello Railroaders, Thank you once again for those who participated in the Railroaders in the Community program. Many of you have shown your commitment and generosity by volunteering your time and skills to non-profit organizations which matter to you. Here are some of the amazing results that our retirees have accomplished through the program in 2025. A total of 468 volunteers submitted hours into the program Those 468 volunteers raised more than $1M for their favourite charities - a total of $1,012,427 The $1M+ total for 2025 was an incredible 83% higher than what the program raised just 3 years ago. Thanks in part to you, the Railroaders in the Community program was once again successful in 2025. To maintain the program’s sustainability while continuing to recognize and reward your contributions, the following adjustments will be made to the program starting in 2026 : The maximum volunteer reward hours per eligible participant will be 100 hours per year . CN will now cover the 2.9% Benevity service charge, ensuring that your chosen organizations receive the full amount earned through your volunteer hours Incentive bonuses now awarded based upon winners of a draw from the pool of all CNPA volunteers The reward rate remains at $15 per hour volunteered If you have any questions, please contact RailroadersintheCommunity@cn.ca . CN is proud of the hundreds of employees, their families, and retirees who give generously of their time to local causes through our CN Railroaders in the Community (RRITC) program . These volunteers are part of the social fabric of the many cities, towns and villages across our entire North American network, helping to make their communities better places to live and work. CN supports their efforts by providing charitable donations to the organizations where CN railroaders volunteer. Each hour of volunteer work earns a $15 reward, up to a maximum of 100 hours or $1500 per retiree per year (including volunteer hours completed by their spouse/surviving spouse). There is no limit to the number of organizations a CN retiree and the spouses/surviving spouses of CN retirees can volunteer with. We are also happy to confirm that if you have already started volunteering in your community this year, any volunteer hours accumulated since January 1 for a recognized charity will qualify for a reward in the same calendar year Thanks to CN's digital platform SPARK , you can easily track your volunteer hours and see when the donation to your charity was made. Rewards are transferred electronically to the eligible organizations on a monthly basis. Check out the exciting new features of the Railroaders in the Community program at SPARK SPARK User Guide CN Railroaders in the Community FAQ To login for the first time: Username: your CN PIN number. Password: the first three letters of your first name + the first three letters of your last name + the 4 digits of the year you were hired at CN + !! Example: The password for Jane Smith, hired in 1999, would be: jansmi1999!! Once logged in for the first time, you must change your email address to a personal email and you will be asked to change your password. If you previously accessed the site while as a CN employee, you will need to change your email. Surviving spouses of retirees should contact railroadersinthecommunity@cn.ca for assistance with the login. NOTE: For those retirees who have tried to log in for the first time and have followed the new log in procedure, but are still experiencing difficulties accessing the new platform, please email railroadersinthecommunity@cn.ca . Please be sure to include your full name as it appears on your CN Pension Statement as well as your CN PIN number. If it is just a password issue, they can assist you by creating a new password for you. However, if it turns out to be a technical issue, they will be unable to assist you until the issue has been resolved between CN and Benevity. Until then, CN advises those retirees to keep track of their volunteer hours so that they can be entered into the system once CN notifies your access to the system has been fixed. How does the incentive bonus for CNPA members work? If you volunteered with a registered not-for-profit organization between January 1 and December 31, 2026, and you log your hours in the RRITC portal by 5:00pm EST on December 31, you’ll automatically be entered into a special raffle draw. Eight CNPA members will each win a $2,000 charitable gift for the organization where they volunteered — a fantastic way to support the causes you care about! Draw Date: January 2027. Winners will be contacted directly and announced on the CNPA website.

CN & Hockey Helps the Homeless Thank you to those CN Pensioners who supported Hockey Helps the Homeless during the 2024–2025 season. Your time and energy helped raise $7.8 million for local shelters and housing programs across Canada. Team CN showed up in full force: 162 players and 46 volunteers across 8 cities stepped onto the ice alongside former pro players, all united by one goal: to help shutout homelessness. We’re excited to be back for the 2025–2026 tournaments ! Stay tuned for more information coming soon! About Hockey Helps the Homeless and CN Starting in 2024, CN signed on as the Premier National Partner with the Hockey Helps the Homeless (HHTH) program (details here ). The program consists of organizing and holding hockey tournaments in locations across Canada and where available, they include NHL, AHL, etc. alumni, local teams and where there is sufficient interest, a CN team (active employees). Since 1996, Hockey Helps the Homeless Canada, a not-for-profit hockey charity with over 25,000 donors, 3,500 players, and 1,000 volunteers, has granted over $28 million to face-off against homelessness. Everyone from community participants to NHL players and Olympians participate annually and "play with purpose to combat homelessness." 100% of net proceeds stay local in the city the tournament is in. HHTH partners with over 60 local homeless support agencies across Canada. For more information about Hockey Helps the Homeless events, please visit www.hockeyhelpsthehomeless.com . CN and HHTH are looking for volunteers to help make these events a success. Each event needs a group of volunteers to perform various duties during the tournament. CN and HHTH are hoping that some of our CNPA members will step forward act as volunteers at each of these locations. HHTH has advised that in terms of volunteer opportunities** for pensioners 60+ in age, there are various flexible roles including: Player Greeting Registration Player Gift/Incentives Breakfast/Lunch Time Keeping Selling Raffle Tickets ** Please note that most volunteer positions have early morning start times. NOTE: Any member/spouse volunteering for this event will qualify for our Railroaders in the Community program and can log their hours for the event and CN will contribute to HHTH. The details for the scheduled tournaments are listed below (locations where there is likely to be a "CN team" involved are indicated in the table).
